Transshipment (#143)
Imagine a transportation system organized as follows. There is a plant in the Arctic whose products can only be collected by specialized vessels due to harsh ice conditions. Each vessel can carry exactly one cargo lot. The delivery point is always the same. All vessels travel at a constant, identical speed, and port operation times are ignored. Currently, all specialized vessels are operating without downtime. Thus, a fixed number of cargos are delivered each month.
Suppose it becomes necessary to send one more cargo per month. Additional specialized vessels are unavailable. However, a transshipment point can be arranged exactly halfway along the route. From the transshipment complex, a conventional vessel will take the cargo and deliver it to the destination. How many transshipment operations per month need to be organized to deliver one more cargo per month?
Complexity: 2/10
